State of the Work place April 2022
Yoooooooooooooo! So... I guess this is my first work post. Welcome to work!
Here's the summary. I took over my dad's Chinese restaurant when he passed away in 2016. We had a fire in August of 2019 and were closed for 20 months before finally reopening in June 2021. So we've been back at it for about 9 months now.
We did a remodel while we were closed, but didn't finish everything. We're just finishing now! Getting really close! I can't wait to be done! I've spent the majority of being open working front of the house as well as repairs and i'm ready to go hide in the back. I got a good crew up front and even found a few employees that seem to care! YES!!
I'm jumping back into the back of the house this week to start taking over the kitchen. We've got a good crew right now. A good blend of the Old (my 2 uncles) and the new (My guys). Most exciting is everyone is ready to grow and train up. We have one chef (W) taking an extended break and are going to have some people slowly shifting around, and i'm excited.
In the short term, i'm going to have a surplus of bodies in the kitchen. But I think that's part of training and being solid back there. My goal is harmony, organization, and have everyone (E / A / M ) train up to the next station by the end of summer. Which means I can take a trip in the fall and we will be ready for next winter! So really just buckling down and gonna crush the kitchen this summer! Lets go!!
